THE SON OF TARZAN One Sheet (27" x 41"); Episode 6: "The Killer's Mate"; Stone Lithograph ; The Bradleigh Vinson Collection Fine+ on Linen National Film Corporation of America, 1920 This beautiful stone lithograph is from Episode 6 of the 15-chapter silent serial titled "Son of Tarzan." It features a striking image of Kanuela C. Searle as Korak, Tarzan's son, alongside Nita Martan as Meriem. This example has been professionally linen-backed and is slightly faded, with expert touch-up applied to a few areas, particularly on the folds, to address general wear, cross-fold separation, and a small spot of paper loss. The borders have been partially airbrushed to correct pinholes, edge tears, and small chips, and the linen has been trimmed to the poster's edges. "The Son of Tarzan" is a 15-chapter 1920 serial following Jack Clayton, or Korak, the son of Tarzan and Jane. Adapted from Edgar Rice Burroughs' 1915 novel and produced by David P. Howells, it was directed by Arthur J. Flaven and Harry Revier, premiering in summer 1920 and concluding in January 1921. A summary of the first three Tarzan films served as a prologue, and Jack Hoxie was originally cast as Tarzan but withdrew before filming. This lot will be auctioned on Friday, March 6th.
