ADVENTURES OF TARZAN Window Card (14" x 22"); Stone Lithograph ; The Bradleigh Vinson Collection Very Fine- on Cardstock Numa Pictures, 1921 This window card features three images of star Elmo Lincoln as Tarzan from a silent serial. It has been professionally paper-backed and expertly restored to repair a few tears in the image area, small creases on the elephant's trunk, and minor imperfections in the two scenes at the bottom. The thin borders around the upper theater imprint area have also been addressed. Airbrushing was applied to the borders to fix edge wear, along with small tears and creases in the white field. The restoration has been skillfully completed, making this beautiful window card a significant addition to any collection of silent films and movie serials, as well as for fans of Tarzan. "The Adventures of Tarzan" is a 15-chapter silent serial marking Elmo Lincoln's final appearance as Tarzan. Produced by Louis Weiss and directed by Robert F. Hill and Scott Sidney, it was written by Hill and Lillian Valentine, loosely based on Edgar Rice Burroughs' "The Return of Tarzan" and "Tarzan and the Jewels of Opar." Frank Merrill doubled for Lincoln in stunts midway through the serial and later starred as Tarzan in "Tarzan the Mighty." This lot will be auctioned on Friday, March 6th.
