John Riggins 1971 Chicago Charities College All-Stars presentational sweater. Original knit sweater as given to Riggins for his selection to the College All-Stars team for his 1970 senior season with the Kansas Jayhawks. Riggins established a mark of 1,131 yards breaking Gale Sayers' single season record for the school. The exceptional season led to Riggins being selected as the first running back in the NFL Draft for 1971 as the sixth pick of the first round by the New York Jets. Sweater displays an attractive "All-Stars" embroidered patch on the front with Wilson manufacturer's label inside the collar area. Light general wear retaining a fine appearance.
