CY Twombly (American; 1928-2011) Untitled Framed Original Oil on Canvas Abstract Rose Painting - This beautiful painting was painted by world renowned artist CY Twombly. The piece is an original, oil on canvas painting depicting an abstract rose. The artist used an array of rich, warm colors, in a color pallete that is very eye pleasing. The painting has been professionally framed in a white wood, floating frame, and is in beautiful condition. The piece is signed by the artist in the upper right hand corner. The piece measures approx. 23" x 22", and the frame measures approx. 25" x 26". CY Twombly was an American painter, sculptor and photographer. His paintings are predominantly large-scale, freely-scribbled, calligraphic and graffiti-like works on solid fields of mostly gray, tan, or off-white colors. Many of his works are in the permanent collections of most of the museums of modern art around the world, including the Menil Collection in Houston, the Tate Modern in London and the New York's Museum of Modern Art. He was also commissioned for the ceiling of a room of the Mus‚e du Louvre in Paris, and credited with influencing younger artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Anselm Kiefer, Francesco Clemente, and Julian Schnabel.
