Maurice Chevalier and Richard Arlen - Pair of Magnificent Portraits by Clarence Sinclair Bull and A. L. Schaffer. Two oversized, double-weight, vintage original and magnificent portraits from the 1930's. First a 10" x 13" portrait of one of the biggest stars of 1930's Pre-Code Hollywood, Maurice Chevalier who could croon and seduce like no other generating enormous popularity and polite, sophisticated scandal. Looking all kinds of dapper in a publicity announcement still for The Merry Widow around 1934 with MGM information slug on verso and stamped to credit Clarence Sinclair Bull. The other an 11" x 14" Paramount Pictures publicity still for Richard Arlen by celebrity studio photographer A. L. Schaffer (credit stamped on verso) with a partial studio publicity slug seemingly ten years after the 1927 first Best Picture Oscar winner Wings which co-starred Arlen, based on the remaining legible text. Both photos show minor evidence of wear but are otherwise very impressive portraits. Estimated Value $250 - 500
