France, First Third of the 19th Century, gold snuff box with a polygonal plan, 18K gold (750/1000), total weight 118.07 g. The body and lid are richly decorated with a relief motif of vine leaves in a regular frieze, edges finely profiled. The lid features a rectangular enamel miniature with a gallant pastoral scene. Marked with the Paris control hallmark poinçon de decharge “caducee” (export/tax mark) and additionally with the Czechoslovak import hallmark (lyre, post-1921, import control in the Czechoslovak Republic, confirming precious metal upon import). Preserved in the original case. Dimensions: snuff box 88 × 58 × 10 mm, overall dimensions of the case 11.5 × 8.5 × 2.5 cm. Excellent collectible condition, see photos.
