Greg Card has been making process-based experimental art in Los Angeles since the late 1960s. He has appeared in numerous museum exhibitions in the US and Europe. He began producing paintings and sculptures out of fiberglass in the finish fetish tradition of John McCracken, Craig Kauffman, Billy Al Bengston and Dewain Valentine. He had two exhibitions of this work at the influential Mizuno Gallery. Then he began experimenting with conceptual performances for the camera, serial actions captured on a xerox machine and modified in the studio. These were shown in solo exhibitions at Cirrus Gallery, Los Angeles, and the Newport Harbor Art Museum. After that, he turned to painting.
