Marcus W. Stewart Jr., Surprise at Asch, limited edition World War II aviation print on paper, numbered 189 of 500. The artwork vividly captures the dramatic events of January 1, 1945, when the 352nd Fighter Groups P-51 Mustangs defended Asch Airfield in Belgium from a surprise Luftwaffe assault during Operation Bodenplatte. Central to the composition is Lt. Col. Donald S. Bryans P-51D Little One III engaging enemy aircraft in a decisive aerial response. Hand signed in pencil by both the artist and Lt. Col. Bryan, a decorated ace with 13.34 confirmed victories. Includes Certificate of Authenticity and reference materials affixed to the verso, along with a gallery framing label. Presented under glass in a silver tone metal frame. Sight size approximately 16 inches x 22 inches. Dimensions: 23.25 X 29.5 X .75 in. Condition: Good overall condition having normal surface wear.
