An autograph letter signed by Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr., physician and poet, apparently directed to Lucy Larcom, a fellow poet and teacher. The text of the letter reads: "My dear Miss Larcom, Will you please me by going to the Symphony Rehearsal with me on Friday 30th afternoon? If you send me word that you will I will call for you at the Vendome at 2 p.m. Very truly yours, O.W. Holmes" Matted and framed along with a later reprint of a black and white portrait depicting Holmes. Very good. Several small areas of discoloration to mat and minor wear to frame. Frame: w 14.75 in x h 17.75 in. Letter (sight): w 4 in x h 6 in.
