Running back O. J. Simpson who established many NFL rushing records as a premier running back during his playing career (1969-1979) primarily playing with the Buffalo Bills has signed and dated this rare proof sheet depicting twelve of his rare insert cards that was made part of the 1994 Roger Staubach NFL football set. While only 1500 of these individual O. J. Simpson cards themselves were ever distributed throughout that season’s product, only up to 500 of these rare sheets were ever made as an even more exclusive prize. Simpson signed and dated this exclusive 25.5 X 19.5 proof sheet “O.J. Simpson 1/10/95,” in black sharpie pen. The sheet is numbered “194/500” and is mounted on foam core with apparatus on verso that enables it to be hung on a wall. Quite remarkable is the date of the sets release and Simpson’s signing as taking place during Simpson’s prosecution for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman for which his trial characterized as the Trial of the Century eventually resulted in a controversial verdict of not guilty.
