BRUGUIERE FRANCIS: (1879-1945) American Photographer. A.L.S., Bruguiere, four pages, 8vo, London, 23rd March 1928, on his personal printed stationery, to Werner. Bruguiere states in part `It seems impossible your letter came so long ago. You are now doubtless sitting opposite curtains in the 42 St library..´, further saying `..I was wading in Wells history that Wilson ought to have gotten Roosevelt & Taft to work with him when he came over after the war. Where would the democratic party have been then?...these great people who can ever really believe in these popular messiahs? Every one with a mission is mad. I wonder what Roosevelt will emerge as when you put the proper power glass on him.´ and concludes with `Life is uncertain but amusing!´ Together with an A.L.S., Francis, one page, 8vo, to the blank back cover of a printed stiff white folding card, to Werner. The card being an invitation to the exhibition of photographs by Francis Bruguiere & E. McKnight Kauffer, in London, Bedford square, from 4th to 20th December 1933. VG, 2 £150-200 Bruguiere and Kauffer collaborated to make non-commercial photographs which compositionally relied upon Kauffer´s cubist format.
