The correct description of the mudra is vitarka mudra.br> Wood with fine remnants of polychrome pigment China, Qing dynasty (1644-1912) Seated in rajalilisana, the posture of royal ease Guanyin is shown here with a serene facial expression (sânta) Downcast eyes are slightly opened, demonstrating outstanding carving skills with the depiction of the pupils A slightly indented urna in the center of the forehead The right hand, in Shuni Mudra, is rested against rockwork while the left is draped on the raised knee and performs Varada Mudra Right foot steps on a lotus pedestal Richly pleated garment and the thin shawl is applied from fine relief, wraps around her body A glorious headdress ornaments of Amitabha seated on a lotus base, the hair gathered in a top chignon A necklace and bangles embellish the body Height: 44 in (111.7 cm) Good condition Condition The overall condition consistent with its age.
