작품 상세
English artist Henry Moore (1898-1986) was best known for his abstract monumental bronze sculptures. The undulating forms of his sculptures usually depicted reclining figures of mother-and-child abstracted figures. This form of Modernism was typically expressed through carved marbles and cast bronzes. Popular in his own lifetime, Moore's series of commissions made him a wealthy man. However, he allocated most of his wealth to the Henry Moore Foundation, established in 1977. The foundation is one of the leading UK arts charities and encourages public appreciation of the visual arts. This glossy black and white photo print, 5" x 6½", is autographed by Moore along the bottom right. The image shows the artist at an event, likely the unveiling of a new sculpture. The signature is inscribed in black felt tip pen. In excellent condition, the item is stamped on the back by the Yorkshire Weekly Newspaper Group.
