DE CHIRICO GIORGIO: (1888-1978) Greek-Italian Surrealist Painter. T.L.S., Giorgio de Chirico, one page, 4to, Milan, 15th March 1941, to Vittorio Barbaroux, in Italian. Writing on his correspondent's printed stationery, de Chirico's letter takes the form of a document in which the artist agrees to Barbaroux's proposal to edit a monographic work, confirming the size of the edition and that it will include 100 plates, 25 of which will be in colour. The artist further agrees that the edition will be made with the contribution of Collezionisti and that he will not engage to work on any other monographic editions for the following year and that the preface will be written by an editor of his choice and that he will provide all biographical and bibliographical information. With a three line holograph postscript. Two file holes to the left edge, not affecting the text or signature, and some light, minor age wear, otherwise VG. £400-500
