COCTEAU JEAN: (1889-1963) French Poet, Novelist & Director. A.L.S., Jean Cocteau, one page, 8vo, n.p. (Paris), n.d. (6th December 1927), to Sewell Stokes, in French. Cocteau briefly refers to a photograph relating to Isadora Duncan. Accompanied by the original envelope hand addressed by Cocteau. Together with a signed hardback edition of Isadora Duncan - An Intimate Portrait by Stokes, featuring (on page 160) a reproduction image of a silhouette Cocteau had created of Duncan. Also including a second autograph envelope (unsigned) hand addressed by Cocteau to Stokes, a T.L.S. by Kevin Brownlow to Stokes commenting on the praise he had received from Louise Brooks in relation to his book about Duncan, a hardback edition of Cocteau - A Biography by Francis Steegmuller and an A.L.S. by Beverly Nichols to Stokes, sending a ticket for Pavlova, loosely inserted into a hardback edition of Evensong by Nichols.
