AN UNUSUAL ANTIQUE AFSHAR RUG, SOUTH-WES PERSIA approx:7ft. x 5ft.3in.(213cm. x 160cm.) Rather unusual design for this type, more associated with Qashqai group. The rust field with large shaped panel containing various small floral motifs around bold palmette lozenge panel centrepiece. Similar palmette in an each corner. In linked hooked panel lozenge border between flowering vine and plain stripes. this rug has slight localized wear to the top pile. Edges are original also with slight fraying in places. Ends with short fringes, secured with touches of minute fraying as well. Good colour combination and well balanced rug.. In general this piece is in good usable condition. Attractive.
