1949/50 5 Window Chevy Truck Family Owned for 55 years Award winning Show Truck in the 70s . Pops Custom built this truck. 1. Small block chevy 2. 4-speed manual transmission 3. Leaf springs rear-end torque tube removed-drive shaft with front load differential 4. 12 volt conversion 5. Too many to list everything was chromed. Pops died and truck sat in garage for 20 years. I towed the truck to my shop in 2015. Rebuilt 350 sbc, carter 4 barrel & intake, mild cam shaft, new clutch from Dan Levine Southland clutch, muncie for speed by Jim Ruupe, New Brakes & Brake rubber, tires, master cylinder. Went through the whole truck and took it to 2 or 3 Car Shows and parked it back in the garage. NO RUST AT ALL!! A few more cool facts about this truck. This truck was a special order with some nice options especially for this time period. It sports an original AM Radio with Ivory knobs, 8 track player and factory heater and defroster. The reason you see 49/50 is because the truck is titled as a 1950 but 1950 trucks did not come with the wing windows on the doors but this truck has the wing windows. Its a bit of a mystery but a theory is maybe because pops liked to smoke, he may have changed the doors because he wanted the wings or maybe the truck came with them. Not really sure. It's kind of a mystery. Another tidbit of information on this truck is pops didn't like the gas tank in the cab behind the seat so he had the tank removed and replaced it with a gas tank mounted aft axle. Maybe pops didn't want to smoke next to a gas tank lol. This is one special truck for sure.
