작품 상세

Dimensions: Height 60 cm Wide 20 cm Depth 17 cm Weight: 11.782 grams The bronze depicts the standing Buddha in a calm and dignified posture, his body gently elongated and clad in a monastic robe falling in softly rippling folds. The right hand is raised in abhaya mudrā, the gesture of reassurance and protection, while the left hand is lowered with the palm open, conveying generosity and compassion. The serene face is characterised by downcast eyes, gently arched brows, and a faint smile, framed by elongated earlobes. The hair is arranged in tight curls surmounted by a flame-shaped uṣṇīṣa, a canonical feature of Burmese Buddhist imagery. The proportions, smooth modelling of the torso, and restrained ornamentation reflect the enduring influence of classical Pagan-period sculpture, consciously revived in later Burmese bronze production. The figure stands upon a lotus base above a hollow cast pedestal with open underside. The surface retains a dark, naturally developed patina with areas of wear consistent with age and devotional handling. Condition: Good overall condition with surface wear and minor abrasions consistent with age. Patina intact and stable.
