작품 상세

Dimensions: Height 51 cm Wide 42 cm Depth 28 cm Weight 22.5 Kilograms The Buddha is seated in bhūmisparśa mudrā, the earth-touching gesture, with the right hand lowered to call the Earth Goddess as witness to his Enlightenment, the left hand resting in his lap. He is clad in a monastic robe draped over the left shoulder, the folds rendered with restrained elegance and fluidity. The face displays a serene expression with downcast eyes, gently arched brows, and a subtle smile. The hair is arranged in tight curls surmounted by a prominent uṣṇīṣa, formerly decorated with lacquer and gilding, now retaining areas of red lacquer and jewel-like inlay. The elongated earlobes and refined facial proportions are characteristic of Mandalay-period bronze casting. The figure is seated on a stepped base engraved with an inscription in Burmese script, likely recording a donor dedication or consecratory text.
