작품 상세

In abstract art, it is often the title that guides, orientates and telescopes the viewer towards an understanding, however ambiguous, from the forms, geometry or brushstrokes and colours (emotions). Ditto, a title like Two Figures, when the viewer imagines two entities, either in coalescence or as antithesis. This is also contingent to the emotional state of viewer on contact with work. Often, an artist uses a set of techniques or composition to suggest his original intent, which may or may not be clear in the final product. The figures could be hugging (harmony) or fighting (tension). In abstract art, it is up to the viewer to interpret. This work combines the gestural with collages and even an image transfer Ib dubbed his “printage” (developed in 1967).
