A FINE BRONZE FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI Thailand, U-Thong period, 15th ct. H. 50,5 cm Seated in sattvasana on a shaped pedestal with his right hand lowered in bhumisparshamudra while the left is resting on his lap, wearing uttarasangha with the samghati draped over his left shoulder, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below ridged eyebrows, smiling lips, elongated earlobes, small band between his forehead and spiky curled hairdo continuing into the ushnisha topped with the flame or ketumala. Estate of Dr. Otto Schwend (1892 -1951), collected in Thailand between 1926 and 1938 and since then continuously in the family's possession, collector's card B 17 preserved MInor traces of age
