BURMESE LACQUER HSUN-OK OFFERING OR BETEL BOX - Comprised of three sections; wood and coiled bamboo construction with a layered base coat of black lacquer and multiple top coats of red lacquer. Surface is incised with an elaborate decoration of Buddha and monk figures, temple interiors, foliate design and diaper pattern. Temple lion figure on base. Condition good; interior compartments have scattered lacquer loss and staining in keeping with use; some lacquer loss inside and outside cover and at base. Early 20th century. 10.5"H x 11"diameter.
