Dimensions: Height 110 cm Wide 85 cm (only Painting) Weight: 12.6 Kilograms with frame Finely painted in rich mineral pigments on paper, the composition depicts a central Buddha seated on a lotus throne, framed by a radiant mandorla and halo, flanked by four richly dressed attendants. The Buddha wears flowing robes in red and green with floral embellishments, one hand raised in vitarka mudrā (gesture of teaching), the other resting in his lap. The attendant figures, including bodhisattvas and guardian figures, are rendered with expressive features and elaborate headdresses, standing amidst stylized clouds. The painting is executed with bold outlines, vibrant colours, and subtle shading characteristic of Chosŏn Buddhist temple paintings, which were created as devotional images for large-scale temple halls. For lots marked with (R), a 19% VAT is added to the combined hammer price and commission.
