A BROWN-GLAZED STONEWARE ‘WOVEN BAMBOO’ VASE (HANAIRE), MEIJI TO TAISHO PERIOD China, early 20th century. Finely potted, the baluster-shaped body rising from a flat base to a waisted neck with a thick-lipped rim. The exterior meticulously carved to resemble the woven bamboo surface of a wicker basket and entirely coated in a chocolate-brown glaze with subtle dark shadings. Provenance: From The Sam and Myrna Myers Collection, Paris, France. Acquired between circa 1965-2012. Condition: Excellent condition with only minor wear, firing-inherent irregularities, and light surface scratches.
