작품 상세
A serene and meditative composition depicting Mount Fuji veiled in morning mist. In the foreground, a red torii gate rises among dark silhouettes of cypress trees, while two tiny travelers with straw hats cross the path — hallmarks of Takahashi Shōtei’s lyrical style. Known also as Hiroaki, Shōtei was among the founding figures of the shin-hanga movement, uniting traditional woodblock technique with a modern sensitivity to light, atmosphere, and space. His prints often portray quiet, dreamlike landscapes of Japan, imbued with poetry and introspection. This impression was likely published around 1930 by Watanabe Shōzaburō, who issued many of Shōtei’s works for the export market.
