Woodblock print by Showa Period artist, Kaoru Kawano (Japanese 1916-1965). Titled: "Sacred Lake" featuring a crane standing among lily pads. c.1950s. Measures: Site: 9" x 15" Frame: 13-1/2" x 19-3/4". Kawano was a woodblock print artist who worked during the Showa period (1926-1989). Kawano combines Western elements with traditional Japanese techniques and gained international recognition through exhibitions in North America and elsewhere.
