ITALIAN SCHOOL OF THE 18TH CENTURY “Three Male Nude Studies” Pen and brown ink on handmade paper. Mounted on backing cardboard and framed with ink line. Inscribed there and on the reverse in pencil: Bertolini 1748. This powerful study shows three male nudes in different sitting positions, whose sculptural rendering is reminiscent of designs for sculptures or monumental wall decorations of the late Baroque period. The confident lines and anatomical emphasis are characteristic of the academic drawing style of the time. HxW: 7.5/19 cm. Slightly browned due to age, minimal staining.
