A FINE SATSUMA KORO (BOX). MEIJI ERA (1868-1912). A large fine Satsuma covered jar. Circa 1880. The large cover decorated with many standing Samurai fighting and the bottom half with eight cartouches each with a different scene. The inside lid and inside bottom also painted with many Samurai. Signed "Satsumayaki" on a black ground and a gold boarder under the Satuma mon. Height 1 1/2 inches. Diameter 3 3/4 inches.
