Louis Audemars gold pocket watch No. 38.422 with minute repetition, rattrapante chronograph and 60 minute timer. Movement made in about 1884 by Louis Audemars, case in about 1900, sold by successor firm Louis Audemars. Cf. Signed No. 38.422 Louis Audemars BRASSUS & GENÈVE on gold dome, back cover with stylised monogram. Slide to activate strike-work in the middle case section, big push-piece for chronograph, push-piece for rattrapante in pendant. Diameter 52 mm. Enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, minute circle with red Arabic numerals, two subsidiary dials: small second at 6 oclock, 60 minute timer at 12 oclock. Blued steel spade hands. Signed Louis Audemars Brassus at 12 oclock. German silver bridge lever movement, completely jewelled with crimson rubies, five endstones, chronograph movement visible on movement side. All steel levers polished, bevelled or honed, rattrapante double fork. Strike-work mechanism under dial, bridges with Geneva stripe decoration, edges of the plate bevelled with wave pattern, blued screws, big compensation balance with blued Bréguet balance-spring and counterpoised lever, swan neck fine adjusting device, strike-work with two hammers on two gongs. Bridge signed Louis Audemars Brassus (Suisse) . Functional, very good condition with minor traces of wear Comment: This high quality movement was made in the Audemars factory between 1882 and 1884.
