Louis Audemars gold pocket watch No. 012.967, lever chronometer with chronograph, made in about 1879. Cf. Louis-Benjamin Audemars: His Life and Work; Hartmut Zantke; p. 386 Provenance: Collection Hartmut Zantke Four-body, polished, very heavy, stepped 18ct Louis XV red gold case, blued spade steel hands. Diameter 57 mm. Enamel dial with Roman hour numerals and minute circle with Arabic numerals. Signed at 12 oclock: Louis Audemars Brassus SUISSE. Blued Spade hands. Gilded bridge lever movement, chronograph mechanism with matted steel levers, completely jewelled with crimson rubies, wolf-toothed winding wheels, very big compensation balance with gold screws with blued Bréguet balance-spring (chronometer balance), early counterpoised lever. Audemars punches on movement under dial and on inner side of outer case.
