A mid-20th century diamond and natural pearl brooch by W. A. Bolin, Stockholm, the spray pave set overall with rose and old brilliant cuts, the oval silver pearl bud 14.3 x 10.8 x 9.4, mounted in gold-backed silver and with Swedish standard marks for 1948, 4.8cm long, 14.9gms, together with a GCS certificate stating natural saltwater pearl (2.3.17) CONDITION: very good, diamonds bright and lively, pearl with soft, satin lustre The House of Bolin was one of the most important jewellery / jewelry houses in St. Petersburg in the second half of the second half of the 19th century, notably establishing themselves as Jewellers to the Imperial Court. The founding Bolin, Carl, was Swedish by birth and it was his descendant, Wilhelm, who moved the House to Sweden in 1916. The House retains its title of jewellers to the Swedish Court.
