You are looking at a very unusual Diamonds, Rubies, Emeralds, Sapphires &14k Gold Butterfly pendant/brooch. This striking artistic piece consists of two separate pieces: top wing and butterflys body are attached to the lower wing with a spring mechanism which causes the top wing to flutter with any movement similar to a way a real butterflys wings would flutter. Both wings of the butterfly as well as antennas are set with beautiful gemstones and as the butterfly flutters its wings this causes them to shine and sparkle as the light hits it from different directions. In addition the many layers of the butterfly a lovely three dimensional effect is created. In the back side of the butterfly we can see both a pendant bail as well as a brooch closure so this striking piece is versatile and can be worn both as a pendant and a brooch.
